(Sample excerpt from a brochure for breeders of bulldogs)

"In addition to being an exotic reptile dealer, bulldogs have always been a hobby of mine. Bulldogs are ideal pets due to the fact that they love to be in the company of his family. He is great around children and makes an excellent companion because of his gentle nature. He is a laid-back and a good-natured companion.

My knowledge and experience over the years has led to the production of healthy, happy and confident puppies that are very well socialized.  My daughter and I raise all puppies in a loving family environment. We now have puppies and adults available to select homes.

The characteristics of a perfect Bulldog are: medium size, smooth coat, heavy, thick-set, low-solid body. He has a massive short-faced head, wide shoulders and strong limbs.   As such, I am striving to keep these characteristics in all of the offsprings of the parents and for future generations of the bloodline.

The bloodlines of our bulldogs are Hermes.  Having researched various breeders over the years, I have discovered that this particular bloodline is one of the best. This bloodline is a re-creation of the working bulldogs that existed from 1820 to 1900.  This re-creation of bulldog is flexible, larger in stature and stronger, and without the health issues that are commonly found in English bulldogs.  Hermes bulldogs live approximately 10-12 years as opposed to 5-7 for English bulldogs.  The ideal weight for males and females is 60-120 lbs. and they are about 17-22 inches at the withers."
