Pittsburgh, PA (March 27, 2003) - LifeSpan, a non-profit, 501(c)(3) Social Service Agency, dedicated to serving older adults and their families in the southern region of Allegheny County for over 30 years, announced today that it has added attorney and small business owner Paul J. Gitnik to its Board of Directors. He will serve a one-year term.
“This is a tremendous privilege and opportunity to serve this great organization. LifeSpan provides valuable assistance to the community and I intend to contribute as much as I possibly can,” said Mr. Gitnik in reaction.
Mr. Gitnik is founder and owner of SOCRATES, Inc. which provides outsourcing coordination of benefits, medical assistance and subrogation services, and fights to reduce healthcare costs for all parties. His company saved more than $5.5 million in healthcare costs last year. In addition, Mr. Gitnik has his own law firm practice that specializes in business law, estate planning, estate administration, municipal law, real estate law and tax law. He is also an adjunct professor at the Duquesne University School of Law and for the Penn State Continuing Professional Education Program, Certified Public Accountant Series. As an active member in his community, Mr. Gitnik currently serves as Treasurer for the Pittsburgh Mercy Foundation, serves as a lay member of the Sisters of Saint Francis of Millvale's Finance Committee, and sits on the Board of Directors for the St. Vincent Health Center in Erie, PA, Preservation Pennsylvania, the Erie Art Museum, South Hills Interfaith Ministries, and the South Hills Chamber of Commerce.
He received his Bachelor Degree's and Law Degree at Duquesne University, then later his L.L.M. in Taxation at the Georgetown University Law Center.
