Portfolio(Sample excerpt of speech written for State Senatorial candidate to the South Hills Chamber of Commerce) Good morning everyone, Thank you all for coming today. It is a privilege to address you. I appreciate the opportunity to convey my interest and qualifications to become your next state senator. A number of years ago, I made the bold decision to start my own business whose mission was to help reduce health insurance costs. Back then people told me I was crazy. As a tax law specialist, I was advised to get a job with a large law firm and I’ll be set for life. No worries, no hassles. But I wasn’t satisfied with that. I thrived on the challenge of creating something from scratch, filling needs that have not been filled, and the thrill of watching my firm grow and prosper. All of these factors make for a more exciting life and make work more fun. But most importantly and the most rewarding aspect of that decision was the fact that I helped create new jobs in our district and to know that I am making a real difference.
