I highly recommend obedience training. I feel that basic obedience training is a good tool for your puppy--which represents a 10-14 year investment on your part.

They will listen on command and they will become more social in all settings and around other dogs. Of course, it's imperative that you keep up with the training. If you do not have proper training, this investment can turn into a nightmare and dogs who do not listen can be dangerous. To make your life with your new companion more enjoyable, take your puppy to obedience training.
